The Program

Coffey is seeking expressions of interest for experienced and qualified specialists in preparation for an upcoming regional Sports Program delivered across Asia Pacific. Program activities are focused on using sport as a vehicle to address primary risk factors associated with non-communicable diseases and inequalities experienced by young women and people living with disability. The core management team will work at grass roots and government level, with local businesses and international organisations, and directly with women, children and their communities to influence social development outcomes through partnerships and grant funding. Coffey are seeking expressions of interest for 4 potential positions in preparation for the upcoming tender.

The Positions

  • Program Manager (Full time, long term)
  • Deputy Program Manager (Full time, long term)
  • Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion Adviser (Part time, long term)
  • Communications and Media Adviser (Part time, long term)

The Person

The ideal candidate for the Program Manager will have:

  • At least 5 - 10 years’ experience managing multifaceted programs around sport, health and / or education in Australia or Asia Pacific
  • Experience working in / with remote communities in Australia or Asia Pacific
  • Proven skills in managing a team across various locations
  • Exceptional project management skills and experience
  • Experience collaborating with partners and stakeholders at various levels
  • High level organisational skills with demonstrated capacity to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Financial management expertise including budget planning and forecasting, coordinating acquittals, financial and variance reporting
  • Significant negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding and / or appreciation of how sport can act as a participatory mechanism to achieve broader development goals

The ideal candidate for Deputy Program Manager will have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in program / activity management through partnerships including activity design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience working with a number of stakeholders and partners in promoting health or education across Asia Pacific
  • Experience managing a budget and forecasting expenditure for an activity / project or multiple projects / activities
  • High level interpersonal skills/ strong customer-service focus
  • Experience collaborating with partners and stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience in monitoring project activities and collecting data for higher level reporting
  • Experience working in the Pacific or currently located in the Pacific (desirable)

The ideal candidate for the Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion Specialist will have:

  • Experience in gender-focused advocacy, campaigning or policy development
  • Well-developed networks across civil society, private sector and governments in the Asia Pacific region
  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and representational experience
  • Ability to mentor large groups and / or organisations to improve female participation and empowerment
  • Ability to tailor and apply gender and social inclusion initiatives to various sectoral programs

The ideal candidates for Communications and Media Adviser will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of digital tools to promote program and broader public diplomacy objectives
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven track record in developing content for the promotion of brand in a corporate, government or development setting
  • Experience in managing a variety of digital modalities, analysing digital activities, and website design
  • Demonstrated ability to network, build and develop contacts, and represent the program at high level meetings, events and social activities
  • Excellent team skills, including flexibility, reliability, interpersonal and people management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, think strategically, and apply judgment and innovation to achieve results

In addition all candidates will have:

  • A willingness to travel to countries across the Asia Pacific on a regular basis
