About the role
Your role reports to the Operations Manager for Victoria, and is responsible for pursuing, leading and delivering medium to large projects, together with a growing pipeline of major transport and infrastructure and property projects throughout Victoria.
This opportunity will allow you to stay ‘hands-on’ in your area of environmental expertise while building your leadership career.
You will have passion and energy to manage and grow the business. Working in collaboration with other senior staff, you will develop, implement and progressively refine the business’s strategic direction and business plan, as well as provide senior technical input to projects.
As well as managing the day-to-day business of the team, you’ll need to build and leverage your client relationships to identify, secure and deliver projects for the team.
Essentially, you are responsible for:
- Overseeing and leading the delivery of projects
- Developing, mentoring, and supporting a team of ESIA professionals
- Achieving profitable performance for the team
- Undertaking business development and maintaining excellent client relationships
Collaborating with other Coffey and Tetra Tech businesses to identify and pursue opportunities
As an experienced ESIA professional with excellent working knowledge of Victorian and Commonwealth legislation and regulation, you will have a flair for business development, identifying and winning project opportunities and growing and leading a high performing ESIA team.
You will likely be a senior member of an environmental approvals team, or already leading a team with extensive experience working in an ESIA consulting capacity. You will also have delivered high quality EES documents in Victoria in one or more of the target sectors of transport and infrastructure and property. Defence experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
Significant experience in business development, and project management, across industries will be highly sought after, as will strong influencing and people management skills.
You must also hold tertiary qualifications in a related science or engineering field. And, you’ll have enviable written and oral communication skills; be able to make responsible decisions on matters assigned, and take responsibility for preparing comprehensive reports and documentation. You will be personable and a team player focussed on leading a cohesive, focussed team of ESIA professionals.
