- Opportunity for an experienced Organisational Development Adviser to make a contribution in Fiji
- Full-time, 12 month contract
- Based in Suva, with some travel within Fiji may be required.
The Australian Government has established the Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) to implement its Education, Health and Scholarship aid programs in Fiji and its Scholarship program in Tuvalu. The Facility will also support the Civil Society Sector in Fiji and delivery of Australia’s emergency response efforts following natural disasters, as well as governance sector support when requested by the Fijian Government.
The Civil Service Reform Management Unit (CSRMU) manages and implements a range of reforms across the civil service in Fiji.
The company managing the Facility on behalf of the Australian Government, Coffey, is recruiting the position of on behalf of the CSRMU. The Adviser will report to the Director CSRMU and the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MOHMS) in Fiji.
The Fijian Government is therefore seeking a qualified specialist with skills in organisational development, job design and business process improvement to assist ministries to gain appropriate efficiencies and to align their structures and job design to the new work approaches. A key focus for the position will be working alongside Ministry staff to document and update business processes to drive improved performance, as well as aligning jobs to maximise the efficiencies gained through technology. Innovation and application of technology to deliver reforms within government are important themes.

The ideal candidate for this position will have significant experience of working in a large and complex organisation, and/or central government, delivering successful Organisational Development in a leadership capacity. This should be complimented by a relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Organisation Development, Human Resource Management or similar. Key areas of competency for the successful candidate will be organisation development, change management, job design and business process mapping, preferably in public sector agencies. A sound understanding of job design principles with evidence of international best practice approaches is sought.
Alongside this, a focus on service delivery and experience in advising senior management on risks and implementation requirements for major change is central to the role.
In addition, the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with people from varying backgrounds, levels and experience is essential. Experience working in Fiji or in Pacific countries will be highly regarded.
