Tetra Tech International Development (formerly Coffey), has a 40-year history in successfully delivering projects in international development and a wide range of other policy areas on behalf of public sector clients around the world. Coffey’s EU team has extensive experience in providing support to the EU institutions and agencies (including the European Commission’s DG JUST, EEAS, DG DEVCO, DG COMM, DG AGRI, DG MARE, DG MOVE etc), delivering a wide range of evaluation, impact assessment and monitoring services.
Tetra Tech International Development is looking to expand our practice in the area of migration and home affairs, bidding for relevant assignments for the European Commission Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME), the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex); the European Asylum Support Office (EASO); the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (EUROPOL); the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA);as well as other relevant organisations active in this area. We are looking to build a pool of junior and senior independent consultants with expertise in EU asylum and migration policy to support Coffey in delivering evaluations and research studies In particular we are looking to cover the following policy areas:
- Legal migration and integration of third country nationals;
- Irregular migration and return;
- Asylum (the Commo European Asylum System);
- Visa policy and document security;
- Management of EU external borders;
- Large-scale IT systems (SIS, VIS, etc.);
International aspects of the above- mentioned policies, such as comparisons with third countries’ migration policies, conclusion of agreements and cooperation with partner countries in the area of home affairs, capacity building in third countries through DG HOME funds etc.
Positions will vary depending on the type of opportunity or type of project. These are likely to include:
Positions to support on business development opportunities. Tasks may include support in the development of the evaluation and research design for migration and home affairs opportunities, as well as other support in the drafting of proposals. The duration of these positions will be short term, typically varying between 1 and 3 months.
Positions on ongoing evaluations or studies, such as:
- A relevant post-graduate qualification (MA; MSc; MFA; LLM or other equivalent post graduate diploma);
- In-depth knowledge of, and ideally previous experience of working with the EU Institutions and agencies in the field of asylum and migration;
- A working knowledge of at least one other EU language.
